Born in Palma, Mallorca (Spain), Ramon Canet graduated and received his licence in Art from the University of Barcelona. During the first two years of his career he worked as a Lecturer as well as an Artist. Since 1977 he dedicates himself totally to painting. He did his first individual exhibition in Palma, in 1973. Since then, he has showed his work regularly in this city, in individual exhibitions in Barcelona, Madrid, Valence, Alicante, Murcia, Seville, Santander, Zaragoza, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Berlin, Stockholm or Lausanne among other cities, or in international Art fairs like Arco (Spain), Art Frankfurt or Art Cologne (Germany), FIAC or Saga (Paris), Chicago International Art (USA), Tokyo Art Expo (Japan), Art Asia (Hong Kong), etc. In 1996, he was selected by the Embassy of Spain in Indonesia, to take part in “Ten of the Best” program and organizing a solo show in Jakarta the same year. His work, in which he realizes a deep investigation of the abstract language, has been revised in successive retrospective exhibitions, in different Spanish cities and in Germany. Founding partner of Edicions 6a Obra Gràfica (1982), he has worked intensively in graphics. Since 1991, he is academician of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Sebastian.
